Printed on Film — Personal Project
In this look, I drew inspiration from the photographic texture found in newspapers and magazines from the past century. The scenes take place during a dinner surrounded by flashes and cameras, so the idea was to build a visual where each frame feels like a record captured by a photographer of that time.
To achieve this, I emulated Kodak Double-X 5222, focusing on the more organic texture this film provides. I also used a softer glow and an unsaturated halation, which turns into a kind of bloom in the highlights, enhancing the night’s glamour and creating a luminous aura around the characters.
I chose to keep both highlights and shadows well controlled, with a softer contrast, allowing the glamour of the scene to remain present without becoming heavy or exaggerated.
Nesse look, fui atrás da textura da fotografia presente em jornais e revistas do século passado. As cenas se passam em um jantar cercado por flashes e câmeras, então a ideia foi construir um visual em que cada plano parecesse um registro capturado por um fotógrafo daquele período.
Para isso, emulei o negativo Kodak Double-X 5222, pensando especialmente na textura mais orgânica que esse filme oferece. Utilizei também um glow mais suave e um halation sem saturação, que se tornou uma espécime de bloom nas altas luzes, reforçando o glamour da noite, criando uma aura de luz ao redor dos personagens.
Optei também por manter as altas e as baixas luzes bem controladas, com um contraste mais suave, permitindo que o glamour da cena permanecesse presente sem se tornar pesado ou exagerado.
